This painting - a study of a 1920s vintage photo of Naples, Italy was fascinating to me. A gentleman waits for some shipment below. A young lad in the navy waits behind, likely to help load and unload? A chair offers respite, should the wait be long. The shipment seems to arrive just as night begins to fall. In creating this painting inspired by a nearly 100 year old photo also recalled the song by Otis Redding "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay". Perhaps you remember?
